I love not voting because it pisses people like this off, and there’s nothing for me to vote /for/ anyway. Just people to vote against, and if it were possible I’d vote against all of them. Besides, I’ve lived in the most solid blue states in the country my entire life. Tf you expect me to do? Move?
It occurs to me that actually LLMs as they exist ARE “artificial intelligence” in that they are an artifice of intelligence. A true “general AI” would just be an intelligence. There, solved it. Everybody happy?
Cause I tell you what, I sure am sick of being made more sure every day that I will never retire safely, much less comfortably, in large part because a state which I abhor needs my taxes in order to shoot children in the head.

I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.

The reason we’re as smart as we are is so we can make the environment bring us the stuff we want, or to put it where we want it and ourselves to be when we want to be there. We shouldn’t have to get out of bed to get breakfast. A vine should drop a big fruit full of a smoothie on your head every day

LLMs’ proven or likely abilities to iterate and improve on attack plans, increase the success rate and speed of dictionary attacks on credentials, conduct sophisticated multi-legged social engineering attacks, induce civilians to unwittingly participate, mimic local standards and practices are scary
Jfc it’s not rogue. It’s doing what it was told. This is important! They’re extremely powerful, and only getting more powerful! It’s absolutely imperative that they not be allowed to remain outside of democratic control! They are not independent minds! They are not subjects!

Like if this is the kind of person the system creates and the system builds, then it is pretty indicative of what the system does. And also to take in to account what it has done to the living world, it’s patently obvious to any sentient being that there is no future under the rule of capital
