Mayor/ Politician with great concern for our civil society and the future of our planet. Bizarrely also a Japanese automotive historian, who will move that work to another Bluesky account.
I stand by everything I said in this article. And my Linked In article on the same subject. We are watching the pummeling of local democracy in real time, and much of the population is eating popcorn and letting it happen. Criticism and abuse are not the same thing. One is okay, one is not.

I woke early in Wells Gray provincial park , listened to Seattle talk radio live as they reported a small commuter plane had a tower in NY. 3 hours later it was a very different story. I spent the rest of the day finding Americans and other tourists from around world that they weren’t going home.
In times like these, it’s important to remember days like these when Canadians were at their best. I remember September 11th very clearly. I woke up early in Wells Gray Park and was listening to Seattle talk radio live as the planes started hitting buildings. /1 youtu.be/wCjsUk7PchI?...

I grew up a redheaded, small, short kid named Merlin with crooked teeth and a broken family. I know exactly what a bully is. There’s a bunch of leaders down south that can frankly go to hell. I stand firmly with the Canadian cadets… hell I was one for a year along time ago. ☮️❤️🇨🇦
My latest on the upcoming BC Municipal Elections… and beyond. There is not only a lack of candidates coming forward, there’s hesitancy for people who will run to declare their candidacy. I’ve never seen so many people who want to slide onto the ballot unnoticed. www.linkedin.com/posts/merlin...

Canada’s local infrastructure is the foundation to the federal governments’ ambitious, nation-building agenda and strong, healthy communities—but much of it is in dire need of renewal and repair.

This girl I used to waitress with in Austin, we moved to New York together in 2003 on a literal Greyhound bus. Shared a fifth floor walk-up studio that, when it rained, had more leaks in the ceiling than we had pots and pans. We used to get drunk and smoke off the fire escape and do “sad-offs.”
It's tough to come to grips with the concept that the most flammable thing in your yard is likely your house... and the thing that is most likely to burn your house down in a wildfire is the heat/embers from your neighbour's house. Flaming dominoes -see Fort Mac. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

The Conservative Liberal Alliance Party(the Clap) is back on the “Baskin Robbin’s 31 favour” BC political menu. How many parties are now centre and Right centre in BC? I swear I saw SoCred signs in Clinton last election.
