Sad to hear of the passing of Roy Hodson, pioneering user of #statistical methods in #archaeology. Although we only met in passing quite some time ago, his work forms the foundations of much quantitative archaeology and an important part of the @uclarchaeology.bsky.social 's history. RIP.

I recall the astonishment at a College senior management meeting at the consultants (PwC as I recall) who must have been barely into their thirties, if that, with next to zero experience of universities beyond their time as undergrads. They got a drubbing - sadly to little effect ultimately.
It's me in the Financial Times, detailing the deep and pernicious influence of one-size-fits-all management consultancy in our universities... Take a look! 👇 www.ft.com/content/5032...
My presentation @caadk.bsky.social yesterday was slightly abbreviated by the need for many of us to get the train. In this 🧵 I'll try to summarise the main point of the talk, which is to encourage my colleagues to make more imaginative use of the amazing open lidar DTMs we have in Denmark #GIS 🏺
