It's still government policy to roll out AI tutors and other forms of AI across primary and secondary education. Maybe a rough equivalent would be banning all kids from public parks in case someone sells heroin to some of them, while also prescribing methadone to all kids, just for funsies.

I was really sad to hear that the First Monday Journal will soon cease publication. Back in 2020, First Monday became the home of one of my very first papers, and the kindness and time taken in peer review was incredibly helpful to me as a PhD student and early-career researcher.

I really want to study this as a social phenomenon. How, when, and why queer/kink communities shift from platform to platform, and how they maintain (or attempt to maintain) resilience throughout the process and in the aftermath. As I mentioned to @bloggeronpole.bsky.social a couple weeks back.
