Last year’s inducted films were A) all by white directors, B) 22/25 by cisgender male directors, and C) the median film in age was THE KARATE KID, from 1984. I’m hoping this year’s stats (especially A & B) are a great improvement on that, and the best way for that to happen is via public voting.

Friends, I just heard from Women in Film and Media Pittsburgh — they’re creating an annual Lois Weber Award! I’m so happy that the city of her birth continues to recognize her. I cried tears of joy when a state historical marker was installed at her birthplace in 2019. I teared up again today. 🥹
During breast cancer treatment, my surgeon said, “Some women like to get mastectomies so they can choose the breasts they want afterwards.” Guess the surgeon’s gender, folks!
