I watched as folks at Dan's home mentioned they wanted to be friends with him. "We need to help each other. People tend to feel isolated here." I had been encouraging him to be social. In the last 7 years his depression got worse and the pandemic was a factor.

My eyes are continuing to bother me, even in low light they hurt to type this out. I got checked out yesterday and I officially need glasses. I wanted to start reordering stock, but I need to wait. Both a daily pair and sunglasses need prescription lenses. My eyes hurt on long drives now.

One year ago (1AM) I was curled up in a chair. Dan needed to be woken up by a crew of 8 in the care of his local hospital's vascular unit. I played him music with little reaction. I'd been awake for over 2 days, with brief naps. An indivudal pressured me not to talk to talk about it. He nearly died.

Today got very expensive. Got checked out for glasses. The prescription sunglasses look nice though. I'm not 100% on the daily wear gkasses' arms, but the half rim frames and lenses look nice.

My friend Dan was a part of Funday Pawpet show for about 25 years. He's known as JR/Jackrabbit and portrayed Poink & Hugh. On July 30, 2025 @ 4AM he was diagnosed with a stroke (July 26) & a previous undiagnosed stroke (est Jan 2024). Both impacted his behavior and quality of life in different ways.

I stopped using LinkedIn years ago. Outside of a convenient place to keep track of my past work history for resumes, it's never been beneficial for networking or been a part of why I've getting hired in the past.

A year ago I would learn about Dan's stroke. Later in the day he started hallucinating and I needed to watch him. Eventually in the evening he would sleep, but it would take 8 people to wake him. Inbetween I would update folks and need to look past my exhaustion for 48 hours starting the day before.

A year ago I was sitting in an ER with a friend. I would learn he had a stroke after 4AM. I updated everyone who wanted updates every time there was one. Two more would come visit. Things got weird the next day. I didn't sleep until the morning of the 31st.
