Missouri voters reject income tax phaseout, initiative petition changes • Missouri Independent
Missouri voters resoundingly rejected major Republican priorities on Tuesday as proposals to eliminate the income tax and change the way majorities are counted lost by large margins across the state.

Brown University has a widget that tracks the cost of the Iran war to American consumers (as contrasted to whatever the Pentagon is spending). Per-household cost now exceeds $600. iranwarcost.watson.brown.edu
Also I'm glad the park-funding renewal passed. I remember years ago going to a state park in Indiana and being flabbergasted that I had to pay $5 when they're free here.
You know Fox 2, if you really want a good debate show, how about, "The Cori Bush and Bill Eigel Show" on Sundays right after Hancock and Kelley? (/s)
Sports guy on Fox 2 joking about "Can I talk about some sports now?" after 45 minutes of election coverage. Anchors: OK Sports guy: Cards get shutout at Yankee Stadium. City SC might lose their leading scorer. HAHAHA let's go back to election talk please!
Analysis from Hancock and Kelly on Fox 2: Brian Williams had a chance but stumbled. No one likes Bill Eigel. They felt vote for Bell was repudiation of Bush. On ballot amendments in MO, if there is money on the NO side it almost never passes. It's a bad night for Mike Kehoe.
It's kind of wild that earlier on the news some guy from the Missouri Association of Realtors spoke about how amendments 4 and 5 were shot down so handily they shouldn't ever be brough up again, and I was like "Welcome to the resistance realtor guy. Please sit next to the reps from UEFA and ABC."
These Republican amendments went down in flames. WE WON!
I know this is a hot take on here (and I would have voted for Cori if I lived in MO-1), but depending on the rest of the results, I think it will be a tough sell to say AIPAC won Bell the election this time if it stays anywhere close to 66-30. Like the amendment votes, the people have spoken.
It's good to know 4 out of 5 Missouri voters understand principles from week two of a collegiate economics course (Sales taxes are regressive.)
It's funny Steve Ehlmann was like "I'll unretire just to keep this jackass from winning."
Bill Eigel going down in flames thank goodness.
Nights like these (also with 4 and 5 going down handily) give me the smallest hope for the Show-Me State.
JUST IN: Missouri voters overwhelmingly approve Amendment 1. Amendment 1 is often cited as the funding mechanism through which Missouri can provide free admission into its state parks. Via @kbianews.bsky.social:

Amendment 4 is getting beat the fuck up. Last numbers I saw was like 80% ‘no’. Even rural counties knew this was a shitty ass power grab.
It’s on pace to lose not only in every district but also in every county Incredible
Wesley Bell has what has to be a lambs Super Bowl trophy replica on his office shelf in a commercial. It's certainly a choice to rep the team that abandoned the city you want to represent.

There is no way on God's green earth that the Blazers will play in St. Louis or Kansas City. T-Mobile Center is 16 years old. Enterprise Center was renovated in 2019 but it wasn't anywhere close to what this dipshit wants Portland to pony up for. www.theringer.com/2026/08/03/n...
