One of my more annoying Xennial opinions is that something important was lost when people shifted from googling words and phrases that they thought might appear on the pages they wanted to googling fully written-out questions like they were talking to someone
In light of "doxxing," "looksmaxxing" and "antivaxxer," I propose we change morpheme-final x to xx in all other words as well: • I just got my eyebrows waxxed • welcome to my unboxxing video • can I borrow your mixxer for the concert • no taxxation without representtttation

I'm baffled by people who approach politics in terms of Having The Right Emotions. I saw someone say that you don't need to boycott the NYT over their transphobic articles, but when you read their articles or play their games you should feel shame & "sit with" that feeling. Who does that help??

(1/2) A while ago I saw someone bemoaning the death of print encyclopedias. But the thing about print encyclopedias is that a) they stay the same even as our understanding of the world changes and b) they're expensive, so people often got used ones that were out of date from the get-go.
