Anyway - if you're not comfortable with loud and messy protests and activism around inclusive gaming... I suggest you try to remember where it's coming from. Your discomfort at the protest is far less than the discomfort of those suffering at the hands of systemic bigotry, harassment, and exclusion.

May the responses on CGEs post make you realize what we queers have said all along. This hobby has a lot of work to do to truly be inclusive and welcoming to non cis white males. #boardgames
If you were blocked by the @codenamesgame.bsky.social account I did a data analysis and indeed this looks to have been an automated process, likely they were subscribed to a moderation list that users were added to and auto blocked. Or they have their moderation settings set too high in bluesky.
I have been contacted by someone at CGE on how they can tackle the issue. They are indeed under a gag order from IP holders, and allegedly many in the Czech republic are/were unaware of how awful JK Rowling is and what she does with HP royalties.
Defending CGE/HP IP, is not neutral. You are choosing to protect a brand and a license that directly funnels money to someone who uses it to harm trans people. The USA and EU are 70% of the global #boardgame market. This is where the money comes from. This is where the pressure has to come from too
For the past 6 months CGE has been a sponsor of The Cabal and it's been great. I love their games and the people I've worked with have been awesome but in light of their recent bullshit, I can't in good conscience continue our relationship and chose not to renew our contract.
The thing about #accessibility that bothers me the most is that when I reach out to Con's and other #boardgame related folks it's always a "let me help YOU" instead of change the design so everyone can access accommodations without having to do the self-advocacy. Accessible design is good for all.
I wanted to share a few thoughts recent discussions around CGE’s decision to partner with JKR for their upcoming @codenamesgame.bsky.social game have prompted. Thankful to those who spoke early to this issue (Marceline, Tiffany, @nopunincluded.com et al) for helping this get the needed attention.

If you grew up with HP, if you love HP, if it's a special interest, etc, I have empathy for that. I would deeply encourage no new purchases, though.
JKR is funding life-destroying legislation. When you license HP and put it on your product, the money you pay to do that is literally ruining lives. This isn't ambiguous, it is direct, measurable harm. I will never give a penny to a company who chooses money over the lives of my friends.
