Senator's Cornyn and Tillis will put a bow on their Senate service by enabling the confirmation of the least qualified nominee for Attorney General in U.S. history. No matter what they might claim about their commitment to the country and its citizens, this vote will tell the real story!

Despite the show John Cornyn and Thom Tillis have put on over the last two weeks, they caved today on their demands that DOJ kill the corrupt settlement with Donald Trump, and it looks like Blanche will be confirmed after all. A very disappointing development. youtube.com/shorts/h1FWi...

Most of the corruption perpetrated by the Trump admin would not be possible without the complicit enabling of the Republican majorities in the House and Senate. The only way to put any check and balance on this out of control regime is to vote them out in November.

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice. It doesn't have to be this way.

Today is a good day to be honest about where the country stands. America reached 250 years, but shared public life has collapsed. Ordinary places feel tense. People expect conflict. Donald Trump didn’t originate the divide, but he made it a constant feature of daily experience.

here is what i think: we're not consumers or spectators, we are participants with agency. you should not hope that democrats will do anything. you must work to force them to do the right thing. the odds are long, but we are far from the first americans to face long odds. we will win.

you know, when someone says something like "these are the things that need to be done to avert disaster" and your response is "you think democrats will do that?!?" all you're telling me is that you think politics is a spectator sport

MGP is my Congressional Representative. While I don't always agree with her politically, she is an upstanding person who works hard for her constituents. Attacks such as these on elected officials of either party are vile and should be rejected by every decent person.

Sadly this attempt to smear her (by mostly making her seem cooler) mostly fails when the actual allegations boils down to “she sold shitty weed” and “inexpertly killed a chicken”

Just 10 people have already poured $617 MILLION into this year’s midterm elections. In the entire 2008 presidential cycle, the last election before Citizens United, total billionaire spending was $16 million. This is not sustainable. We need to get Big Money out of our democracy.

AOC: The Republican Party’s brand is fear. They constantly want Americans in fear of somebody because, if you are not afraid of someone who is your neighbor, you’re going to realize who’s actually pickpocketing you.

Too often, DSA and Bernie Sanders frame inequality as primarily economic. For many Black Americans, race and racism are inseparable from that conversation. We also notice how often the focus shifts to the “white working class,” while our experiences are treated as secondary. 🧵

Whether it is 200 or 250 remember this: for Native peoples, those 250 years mark stolen land, broken treaties, and massacres carried out in the name of “freedom.” This anniversary may be a party for the nation, but it’s also a reminder of the lives and cultures the nation tried to erase.

Michelle Obama: "That's where the truth of this country lies. Not in grabbing as much as we can get for ourselves. Or knocking folks down to prop ourselves up. But in the overwhelming goodness, the relentless striving, the quiet dignity, that is inside all of us."
