In the old days when it was widely believed global warming could be stopped we were focused on prevention. Failing that, we would move to mitigation, and then adaptation. Very few, if any, were asking what happens if couldn't adapt.

I'm all for "climate adaptation," but honestly I don't know how we can adapt to this level of climate disruption of agriculture. Farmers can't "adapt" to chronic drought and heatwaves. Crops don't "adapt" -- they wither. I don't think we fully understand where we're headed.

I don't agree or align with all of Charlie's takes but I respect his work. He's hard at it. The man could have easily faded into retirement after an impressive public service career in the House of Commons. Instead he swung into action, as it appears is his way, and hasn't stopped.

Let’s be clear here, when scientists say mistakes were made at the start of the pandemic, we DO NOT mean that we did too much. We mean not socially distancing quickly enough, not making tests widely available, and not acknowledging COVID is airborne and distributing N95 masks to everyone.
