A lot of climate mitigation advice ignores a key constraint: will people actually do it? In our new paper, we use a “personalised scenario testing” tool and ask people to build a plan to cut their own emissions by 30% (Swiss sample, n=2,793).

Thrilled that my paper (w/@sarahobolt.bsky.social,@catherinedevries.bsky.social,@simonecremaschi.bsky.social) was accepted at the American Political Science Review! We find that declining public services fuel support for the populist right — and show why the right benefits more than other parties 🧵

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

I’m lucky to have some great mentors in political science - and even luckier to have the opportunity to serve as a mentor for others This new Mentoring Programme by EPSS is a great initiative to connect political scientists across countries and universities Please consider signing up 👇

EPSS Diversity Committee is happy to announce the launch of our mentoring program: a new initiative designed to develop a new network within the EPSS community. March 31 is deadline, and program runs from May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027. More info: epssnet.org/about/divers...

Climate politics sounds increasingly polarised. But in Europe, support for climate isn’t driven by die-hard supporters or opponents. It tends to be shaped by a large “conditional middle” (33%).
