Uhh, the current big tech shareholder and private equity driven model of value extraction is inefficient, more brittle than ever, and funding fascism. We could replace them all with Costco model clones… Uber, Lyft, Substack, Onlyfans, etc

Thanks for the advice. I’ll be writing about how we don’t need Amazon, Uber, Instacart, Substack, Onlyfans, etc. anymore. Or basically most extractive, subscription based, PE model tech. With software commoditized, their technology moat is eroding.

(Technical skills will still be necessary of course, just no longer sufficient) - aim for the hard or interesting stuff (especially conceptual). Now is the time to go for the long, blue-sky-ish projects. Learn new areas, go deep. The times of competing on superficial breadth are gone (sorry, me) 4/

We need to fund Americans to travel, see, and experience their own country. All transport paid for or at least heavily subsidized at least once per American’s lives. Something like a national travel corps. A country this wealthy and diverse is hindered by our current levels of isolation.

If only by Bezos’ unsolicited protest you can tell his insecurity has overcome him. All the money in the world can’t buy him the self-confidence Zohran has. Plus for my money, Bezos got lucky by circumstance. Maybe he had a spark of brilliance, once, but Zohran is an operator like he’ll never be.

If New York City ran its school system like Amazon some of the diplomas would be delivered to the wrong porch, the students would be classified as independent contractors, and the school tax would keep changing every minute.

With all the news about the @workday.com discrimination case, if you’re a tech worker or really anyone applying through workday portal, you could consider circumventing Workday entirely by finding the hiring manager some other way and sending them your resume directly.

I'm at Delaney Hall in Newark, where human beings are being warehoused under abusive conditions. We have to abolish ICE and create a new system for handling immigration.

Wtf is this!? I’ve set up a quite a few Mac’s and never seen this modal. Maybe I’m jumping the gun but they'll enshittify the fabric of fuckin reality if not stopped.

Is anyone working on an AT Proto marketplace or commerce lexicon à la FB marketplace, OfferUp or Craigslist?? It’s a last thing I sign into FB for and I think there’s a lot of possibilities there.

As an econ nerd I feel it’s possible to trace most of the unrest in the world today to wealth inequality (in a broad sense) and therefore to monetary and fiscal policy. And it’s near maddening that this is a seemingly fringe perspective. #EconSky
