Books, bourbon, baking, board games - in that order. #VFL 🍊

It would also help if human reporters avoided things like "released by Warner Bros in 1942" — a total howler pretty clearly picked up from Google AI, which says WB was original distributor. It was not. I can't say it enough, that cute Google summary is wrong about old movies 99 times out of 100.

Artists and writers might not be so opposed to AI if every major AI advocate did not take such pains to announce, as loudly as possible, "I am an asshole." deadline.com/2025/09/ai-t...

College football conspiracy theory for @alexkirshner.com - Dabo deciding to (barely) embrace the transfer portal, hire staff who haven’t come up through Clemson, etc is because he wants to show he’s still relevant in the modern game when Alabama opens again.

We all need to come to terms with the fact that we're living through a political revolution. The regime change from democracy to authoritarianism is still in motion, and can be reversed, but it's also much further along than we'd like to accept. It's a different system, not just different policies

Republicans have been "on the verge of standing up to Trump" for a decade now. Centrist media loves this message but the reality is that Republicans have steadily purged opposition and are more dedicated to him than ever. Who gives a shit what they say in private.

Mark Warner on Republicans: "I do think we're getting close to them stepping up, but the problem is going to be, how much structural damage is going to be done before my Republican friends find their voice and voice publicly what they're already saying privately?"

i will become a total shill for whichever politician decides to become the joe mccarthy of rooting out silicon valley ideology and influence

i have said this before but forty years of being on the absolute margins of american politics has inculcated some bad habits on the american left, among them a tendency to see left-wing politics as bohemian counter-culture more than an actual politics. west fits squarely within that.
