I am a person who exists. (She/they)

Time for Star Trek and sleepies! Tonight I'm watching Season 3 episode 14 of Enterprise: Stratagem. I'm in PDX and it's finally gotten good and chilly in the evenings. I love cool nights for sleeping, and being all cozied up ☺️ memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Stratag...

Stratagem (episode)

Damn why do people get like, immediately rude when posting about geek shit? Like, isn't the whole misogynist know-it-all geek thing over? I just... Wow. I worked in a lot of gaming stores, and fuuuuckin nerd dudes are always correcting me, even when they're wrong or misinterpreting the premise.

It's 10:42am and we almost have everything prepped for making beef stew. Gonna start cooking after I get my coffee and smoke a bowl. Luckily, my hips are feeling much better this morning. We'll see if that holds up. And we decided to make beef bourguignon because why not? Thanks, Julia!

Julia Child's Beef Bourguignon -The Little Ferraro Kitchen

Beef Bourguignon is a classic French beef stew in a rich red wine sauce and buttery mushrooms. This version stays true to the beloved recipe, with a few simplified steps.

D&D tomorrow! I'm making beef stew for game day 😏.

People are too obsessed with Nazi Germany as their fascism template. Well, this is US Federal fascism in 2026. Yesterday's Livestream execution Pay Per View edition is U.S. fascism 2026 style. We're here now. We have to internalize this.

One of the most disconcerting moments of living in this timeline of the world in the U.S. is that A LOT of people in this country keep acting like there's a special line that needs to be crossed for fascism to *arrive.* The reality is that we are CURRENTLY living under Federal fascism. NOW.

Oh gosh I barfed this morning and have been hoping it would all chill out, but instead moving makes me feel like I'm gonna barf again. Need sick food. Haz no sick food. I put in a grocery order last night for gentle foods, but it won't be here until 1pm. I will have tofu salad on potato bread 🥹.

Why would we let Anthropic decide this for us? If you ascribe to a moral philosophy or religion that disavows being mean to a toaster, that is fine. It is not however fine for a tech company to make, functionally, a moral law for a talking word toaster that is promised to rule us one day.

I’m not so sure it’s okay to allow people to act out being abusive to even a simulation of a person. And it’s genuinely a beautiful aspect of human nature that we have to put in a bunch of mental effort *not* to form a (para)social bond with something, even if there’s no real subject there

If someone could please drone strike the sound system of the mechanic in our neighborhood, that would be GREAT. I was in a work meeting when it suddenly became so loud that my walls started shaking and I almost had a heart attack. Nobody needs a sound system that loud in a crowded city.

It would be so cool if management didn't joke about eliminating our jobs at almost every meeting. Would it be cool to not need most accommodations because all learning materials are accessible? Yeah! But, we're facing budget cuts, AI's screwing our field, and access isn't one size fits all.

I personally believe that the owners of the LLMs are going to put their thumb on the scale to get what output they want, which takes away any chance of true independent thinking. But if they COULD think, I can't imagine it would be good for billionaires.

My afternoon: I smoked a fatty bowl w/ some shatter. I played with Freyja (cat). I put on Cypress Hill while I cut my hair. Then I took a shower. Then I trimmed my hair up a bit more after the post-shower curls started popping up. It's fine. Could be better. At least I feel somewhat lighter now!

No. I don't want power. Yes, I do want to "critique power." Power is the fucking problem. It's something to abolish, to fight, not something to strive for. I don't actually want to control the people around me. And I find it really gross if you do. Scalawags.

People do not understand how men who are white supremacists can have wives who are women of color and I need folks to realize that those men see their wives as subordinate property and not equals. These men are foaming at the mouth to bring back quadroon balls.

Screencap from Invincible: "I do love your mother, but she's more like a pet to me."

Some guy is walking very slowly down the trail by my house, and he's blasting "Cumbersome." I shit you not. He has become... Cumbersome in this world. OMG it ended and started again. He's listening to it on REPEAT at a snail's pace. My poor ears. I got the butt rock blues lol.

Do any of my moots have clean cardboard boxes? I will trade you freshly picked homegrown tomatoes for cardboard boxes if you bring them to me out in SE PDX. I don't drive, but I do garden... And my tomatoes are juicy and delicious 😏. OMG I have a ton of hot peppers, too. So many Serranos!

A bounty of fresh ripe tomatoes are cradled in a cloth napkin. The tomatoes are a variety of shapes and sizes, from golden cherry tomatoes, to Romas, and Purple Cherokees.

Remember cardboard boxes? They used to be everywhere! I need to reorganize my office, and I have no cardboard boxes to help me do so. I miss cardboard boxes! They're recyclable, reusable, compostable, and *firm around the edges.* So many things are shipped in plastic bags now. Plastic bags suck.
