Contrast is actually really important for appeal. Not just contrast between your characters and their timing, but also within the scenes, sequences and overall season. If you pump everything up to 12/10 right out of the gate you have to stay there and people expect you to keep going.

I'm doing a workshop with some students and a lot of my advice is like ,less movement - less words. ('dialog is not acting' is a refrain) So many people with a love of characters make the mistake of only focusing on those 'fun' aspects and gloss over everything else that communicates just as much!

Allow me this moment of wonder because I usually don't dabble in color ... It's not my thing. But maybe I'm more competent than I had anticipated

I'm rly sitting there making a color script. Me. I mean it's probably bad and clumsy and some things don't flow well for now but it will exist. I'm such a goat.

On a brighter note people are starting to notice my blorbo I'm Weirdly happy about it Yay I mean look at him ... Majestic queen of the Bards ✨🫰

If you're an artist who hasn't written many stories before, I don't think it's a good idea to start with a big pilot or something. Writing takes just as much practice as making art, they both take a long time to learn and get right and there's a lot to it
