The whole point of the Bill of Rights is to protect the only true minority - the individual. It limits the governments power to harm the individual. The whole constitution is designed to limit the governments power.

I wrote them to complain about the Claude ad this morning, and this evening someone from corporate called me ON THE PHONE to thank me for the feedback and say they are PULLING THE AD, effective tomorrow. Keep up the pressure, folks! Find your voice! (Thanks Landmark, love u)

Landmark cinemas hitting us with a Claude ad right before The Odyssey started, like “here, have some cortisol for the opening credits”

More than once in the past two months I have been like ??!?!??? about the music-related commentary around this show—but now my palate is cleansed, my brain is happy, my heart is full, because Emmet knows what the fuck they're talking about and this essay is PERFECT.

Reinventing yourself through rock music is a tradition carried by countless musicians, from David Bowie and Siouxsie Sioux to Prince and Elton John. In Interview With the Vampire, Lestat creates a mythos through his own music: #IWTV

Most of the "Why do these look like poppers?" comments seem to be coming from folks in their early 20s who are cosplaying elements of queer culture absorbed from being Very Online + bingeing RPDR at age 9. You think you can get the drop on US, your goth elders, on the subject of club drugs?

Business model: 1. Secure license for beloved fandom property 2. Spend months (YEARS!) developing high-quality product 3. Toil through approvals to produce online ad content, paying extra to be seen widely beyond one's usual reach 4. Delete hundreds of "Girl I thought this was a popper" comments

When it comes to AI and other elements of technofascism, it seems like a lot of folks default to a "this is inevitable" mindset instead of the much more reasonable and honest "I don't know how to fight this." Very tempting to skip a step that admits not knowing something.

In-person sniffing and sampling events are truly where it’s at! Minneapolis, Vermont, and L.A. opportunities are upcoming in August, then Atlanta in September (Dragon Con) and *possibly* a hometown Philly Lunacy before the end of 2026

The next Vermont Lunacy is on Saturday 8/29 from 4-6:30 @ Scout & Co in Burlington! I will also be having a booth at the Vermont Fairy Tale Festival on Saturday 9/19 in Killington! Come out to one or both and get your @bpal.bsky.social smellies!
