I’ll happily take an entire Spider-Man trilogy from Destin Daniel Cretton. I’ll admit ‘Brand New Day’ has some slight “Marvel bloat” in parts but it still does a great job telling an emotional Peter Parker story while staying rooted in the streets of NYC.

Someone the other days was making the case that a Jedi / lightsaber was an essential part of making a story seem Star Wars, and that is so dependent on when you were introduced to it, because expanded storytelling from ‘77-‘98 didn’t do it that often.

the odyssey discourse is a beautiful perfect window into right wing culture war psychosis. they went from hysterial racist mania over a character that’s on screen for 5 minutes to claiming there’s a massive conspiracy to fake ticket sales. this is just what they do for everything now. they’re insane

BREAKING: The Odyssey is FAKING ticket sales by buying up theaters/seats (Fraud) to make the movie look like a success (already $400 million in the hole) moviegoers are reporting having to take terrible seats (because full) but when they show up the theaters are mostly empty.
