Tom Cox@dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social · 4d agoAfter exhausting myself writing a fairly epic, emotionally intense novel with a complex and layered narrative taking place over many decades, I felt a burning need to write a short, silly, surreal collection of short stories next. A fun challenge I set myself was making some of them VERY short.
And it’s a beauty of a book!

The book is The Continuity Girl. It’s a comic love story set during the Highlands shoot for Billy Wilder’s troubled masterpiece The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes. It was doing really well when it suddenly vanished from print. It’ll be a relief to have it out there again.

Easy to praise @brethertonwords.bsky.social and @breakthroughbook.bsky.social who are my new publishers and are a genuine breath-of-fresh-air force for good in a sea of sharks; tricky negotiating some of the old thank-yous.
