This year's Summer Conference & Lobby Day brought advocates from across the country to Washington to build relationships with Congress and push for durable, bipartisan climate solutions. 750+ volunteers. 400+ meetings on Capitol Hill. That's what people-powered climate advocacy looks like 💪

An unfair, outdated policy known as line extension allowances (LEAs) lets gas utilities charge existing customers for the cost of expanding gas pipelines to new customers. Each year, in Minnesota, LEAs cost customers $34 million annually.

For the morning crew, I was really happy to chat with @brianpjcronin.bsky.social for this piece about the fight in NY over whether we'll lean into a clean energy future. And some of the tools NY hasn't yet pulled from their toolbox: virtual power plants and demand response.

New, from me: The 2nd part in our series on NY’s beleaguered climate law. We’re behind on (most of) our targets and the Governor wants to weaken it. What can we do to get back on track?

Today is the final day for Early Bird registration of the @cclusa.org North East conference (5 hours left!). Prices go up +$20 tomorrow, so don't miss out! Wonderful program, wonder folks.
