El-Sayed, Lawrence and McKinney all won progressive campaigns in Michigan last night by talking about climate and clean energy like it was a kitchen-table issue — because skyrocketing energy bills and endless wildfire smoke matter to people.

El-Sayed: We live in an era where we continue to see a few very small people try to define America as being as small as they are. We can't control the past 250 years. What we can do is build the next 250

A federal court says the Trump admin improperly terminated $20B in "green bank" funds — a big win for the nonprofit groups fighting to restore clean-energy and climate lending. But a likely Supreme Court appeal may delay them from getting their money: www.canarymedia.com/articles/cli... #energysky

Court rules against Trump EPA’s freeze of $20B in ‘green bank’ funds

A federal appeals court finds the EPA acted improperly in terminating grants to boost clean energy projects. The Trump administration may appeal to the…

hahahahaha "The judge hearing the antitrust case seeking to block the Paramount–Warner Bros. merger has scheduled the trial for March 2027. The scheduling matters a lot to Paramount, which will begin paying Warner Bros. shareholders $7 million a day on Sept. 30 until the deal is complete."

so there's been this big Clear Channel digital countdown to the world cup billboard in Oakland for the last six months, except the world cup is over, and they haven't found someone new to buy the billboard space, so right now it just says: "-51 days till all eyes are on the Bay Area!"

I mean, this is it right here. Your account is your online home. The standard for blocking need not be toxic hostility. It can just be someone who is mildly annoying or who messes with the vibe you were enjoying. No need to keep them around. Surround yourself with friends, allies and cool strangers.

K and I throw backyard cookouts a lot and they're awesome because we've spent our whole adult lives curating a perfect guest list, even as individuals come and go, there's always a ton of great folks we love. it never occurs to us to "get out of our bubble" and open the yard up to shit heads

i started this train of thought as a joke but now i do think there's something to the idea that the way to sell the green revolution to the US public is that we're being denied Good Deals on cheap chinese cars and solar panels and there's nothing more unamerican than saying we can't have a good deal

Unfortunately Hochul has no upstate to downstate transmission project in planning nvm construction at this time. She killed/delayed the Clean Path project. As a result, we’re paying more for electricity that is also more polluting. 👎👎👎

Right now NYC is getting 1,164 megawatts of clean hydropower electricity from Quebec via the newly-built CHPE transmission project. 🎉 ✅ lower energy bills ✅ less pollution ✅ good jobs Two big offshore wind projects are under construction right now… coming soon! 👍

At 8:44pm CHPE - the big transmission project that just got built - is delivering 700 megawatts of clean electricity to NYC. ✅ lower electric bills ✅ less pollution ✅ more good jobs Empire wind and Sunrise wind, two large offshore projects, are under construction now! 👍

FYI: Blanche rescinded the ORDER establishing the slush fund, not the underlying “settlement.” The settlement says any changes must be agreed to by ALL parties, not just Todd. This “rescission” isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on.

This is ridiculously scary. Yes, we are currently talking about ballrooms and reflecting pools and inflation and Iran and Venezuela and Epstein and crypto grift and the moral rot of the GOP. But all that is going to be forgotten soon. Shit is about to get real, as they say.

I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

15,000 years ago, in one of the the earliest settled communities in the world, a child collected fine clay from the slow-moving river by her home. She then committed an act familiar to all inveterate play-doh enthusiasts; rolling and and pinching the squishy clay into tiny round balls.

Once the cost to the “grid” for storage is less than $100/kwh it is flat flatly cheaper to run the grid differently than building more power plants for 400 hours a year of run time. It also gets more out of transmission and distribution wires. Here I am talking about the contribution by the “grid”.
