In today’s episode of insane student loans I get to work on an amount that has 44 loans again totaling approx 1/2M. They attended 9 schools of which one was culinary and 3 were medical with 2 of those being in the Caribbean. Seriously hope this person doesn’t practice medicine.

I was thinking Steph’s foot is the same length as mine. A little voice somewhere in the recesses of my brain has been nudging me to check my records. So with just 8 rows to go I finally listened. Nope. Her foot is a full inch longer than mine. Sigh. I’ll frog as soon as this needle is rethreaded.

Hand knit sock in progress. The cable needle has been rethreaded through half the stitches approximately 12 rows down.

I celebrate my birthday the entire month of August but tomorrow is the official day. When I knit tomorrow’s stitches on the temperature project, I’ll carry a strand of hot pink Kidsilk Haze (top left of the 1st pic). And, I’ll be wearing one of my tiaras for my own amusement. Because, why not?

With the exception of the grey and 2 blues in the bottom right that were used for my dad when he passed last year, these are the colors we’ve all picked out to commemorate our birthdays on the temperature project. Work this week has been brutal so far. It’s one emergency on top of another. Thank fuck tomorrow is my Friday. I got up from my desk over 2 hours ago and still feel like I can’t form a coherent thought. I should probably pick up my knitting before it’s suddenly bedtime.

Today’s roundup is a weird one. I finished the Scorch socks then cast on for Steph w/the one-off. I soon realized why it’s a one-off. It’s an oops of Sour Patch (the color I’m using for the dress). So I pulled out this already in progress sock that’s another MCN from Threads. #NightlyProgressReport

Ta da!! Finished pair of socks in stripes of yellow, orange, red, and burgundyAs a cast on the sock my spidey senses started tingling because there was something so familiar about these colors. It was listed as a one-off with no name but as I finished the 3rd row I just knew it had to be Sour Patch. So I had Jake bring in the sundress and sure enough, they’re not identical, but certainly close enough. There’s going to be a solid pink band around the waist before I start the shirt so I’ll keep the original yarn above and switch to this skein below. Here are the two skeins and even though the original is behind mesh it’s easy to spot the differences. The main differences are the ratios of the colors to each other and the lavender in the top skein is darker than the lavender in the original. But considering this version of the dress is the tree one anyway, I’m fine with it. But I need something to keep my hands busy tonight. I’ll find a different yarn for Steph tomorrow and get her socks started. This was one of a few in progress projects hanging out in my room. It’s the same yarn base I just used, the MCN from Threads by Megannicole. It’s my basic sock recipe. I’ll just need to dive into my notes to see who I was thinking of when I started this and get the particulars. It’s at the beginning of the heel flap so there’s no variables until after the gusset decreases so I’m just going to carry on. It’s going to get put back in the project bag again anyway as soon as I start Steph’s socks tomorrow.
