I forget how lovely New Orleans is, even in August. Love the vibes.
#AEJMC16 Conference nerds: This panel at 10:15 will be good, we have some real bangers coming who know their stuff. Beyond Information Needs: Assessing and Supporting Informed, Connected, and Cohesive Communities
I know we are chalking the success of some leftist candidates almost entirely to the DSA. However, it seems like the more common theme is that these are candidates with organizing experience?
So much actual research bears this anecdote out! Really.
this isn't very popular to say, but for me personally, it was good that i had unrestricted internet access when i was a minor. i was aware of what i was doing and enjoyed it. i don't look back on it and go "well that was a mistake", i look back on it and wish i could do it for the first time again
I will never not stan New Orleans for just casually offering you a to go beer. 🍺 It’s not the beer itself (although that’s good too) it’s the VIBE. Impeccable vibe where you are not subject to the state’s rules every waking moment. The exact opposite vibe of New Jersey lol 😂
Brown University has a widget that tracks the cost of the Iran war to American consumers (as contrasted to whatever the Pentagon is spending). Per-household cost now exceeds $600. iranwarcost.watson.brown.edu
They are so gorgeous but they basically destroyed my brother’s house and all new siding is NOT cheap! Heh
Being fucking defied and mad thwarted by a goddamn woodpecker is such a specific bad mood.
Imagine thinking so little of yourself that you just let this half sentient rotten potato talk to you like this. I don't care if he's president, have some self respect.
Trump says Jeanine Pirro "choked" and then snaps at a reporter who asks if her job is safe: "Don't ever talk again"
Yep. Also - you can't not only move the needle on Trump, you can't move the needle on getting people to come to this understanding of the American press! So many of us have tried, for so long. It will not break through that because one side is not based in reality, it simply cannot be taken seriously
"Nothing moves the needle." craigunger.substack.com/p/nothing-mo... In case you missed it. Best thing I've read recently about the crisis in journalism.
Off to New Orleans today for #AEJMC16 hope to see some of y'all there! Here is the participatory journalism programming brizzyc.medium.com/participator...

this is an interesting interview and if i were clipping it for social media i would have excerpted "We're still a place where we don't downrank links. We love sending traffic to people. We send two million clicks a day to publishers" rather than the part that'll just piss people off lol
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
I’d be dead and therefore it is none of my business where the ball is
Do you think you take a hit from a NFL player and not fumble the ball at your age?
I am once again saying, I am so glad this guy is no longer my problem. Enjoy, Steelers fans.
It’s August 2026 and Aaron Rodgers is having a full blown meltdown about Anthony Fauci.

I don’t think a shallow notion of “influencing” is exactly what this degree is about, if you actually look at it and not some thin piece on Yahoo. I’m sorry if you want to live in denial, but uh, being able to create content is the only way to reach people today.

Many struggling Americans now find their difficulties compounded by President Trump's cuts in food stamps and health care. On a 1,000 mile road trip, I met people like Trinity Goodman, who survives by selling blood plasma, has $3.78 in her bank account. A gift link: www.nytimes.com/2026/08/01/o...

It is just so chilling that he lies about this. My students walked past those trucks. We all saw photos. Is there nothing they won’t lie about?
