IMHO, social media CEOs NEED their platforms to be absolute cesspits because these platforms are not FOR us. Their agendas are entirely counter to us having a nice chat on their platforms.
I should be clear that the architecture of Bluesky makes it the social media place I most like to be. I'm not on social media to be an influencer or instigator; I want to hang out with folks and have an enjoyable time. This place delivers on that. I hope it continues to do so for a long time.
Connections here are very important to me. I do feel a little vindicated on my stance that it’s not a substitute for seeing people in person when someone I’ve interacted with for some time can just dispassionately unfollow me for my opinion on feral cats… Get ‘em gone is my opinion btw.

This is a frustrating read. It’s like they recognised a massive problem… and then kept feeding that problem more native ducks. I’m glad they finally caught the cat but MY GOD. Also, people suggesting the cat should’ve been homed and not killed, I say once again… Have you MET feral cats.

That was A BAD DAY. The doctor is on the fence about what it looks like, so I have to wait for the biopsy results. She’s not even leaning in one direction or the other. Hopefully results by Friday. I also got antibiotics for a kidney infection from my practice.

Nearly lost it. My aunt came with me to the hospital. On our way back she commented on the “waste of money” of repaving the centre of town and revamping the railway crossing to make it safer and more expensive. All I managed to get out was that I disagreed before she said, “You don’t pay rates”. 😡

I think I probably would have chosen to answer this in a way that doesn’t alienate the majority of your existing users. Emphasising a “special interests” angle and that you are going to focus on bringing diverse users on board to share in their common interests would have been the way to go.
