A main reason why people in the founding generation wanted to keep religion and the state separate is because of how politicizing religion pits different sects against each other.
To make fare gates work, sound transit is going to need to improve their youth ORCA card delivery process. In the small OR city I grew up in, you got a free bus pass literally stuck to your school ID starting in middle school. No reason we can't do something similar here.

Polis is hereby banned from speaking or being honored at party events. 90% of CDP central committee members voted to reprimand Polis.
This will end 1 of 2 ways: 1. Moves to ID, discovers their income tax & the lowest quality of life in the west. Cries about it on Linkedin then quietly moves back to Seattle 2. Moves to FL, posts shirtless beach selfies for 3 years, cries on Fox after his home is drowned by rising sea levels.

It will be how fast the city can conduct environmental review around what changes she'd like to see on top of Harrell Admin priorities.
If #1 happens we should all agree to simply refuse to acknowledge it after a week. Go right back to blaming Trump tariffs for affordability issues. The average voter simply won't notice/remember, but they'll remember the narrative that Trump loves tariffs.

Notes that parking mandates haven't delivered on their promise to help cities manage their curb space.

At a press conference at City Hall this morning, the Working Families Party and PROTEC17—the largest union of City of Seattle workers—endorsed Katie Wilson for mayor. The city union's endorsement is especially monumental because for most of these workers, incumbent Bruce Harrell is their boss.
The Supreme Court’s “shadow docket” has cast very different shadows depending on which party holds the White House. When lower courts blocked Trump admin policies, SCOTUS intervened on an emergency basis to lift those orders in 77% of cases. For the Biden administration, that number was 0%.
