Packing my bags for ACM SIGGRAPH and rehearsing for: - Sunday the 19th - 9am to 12:15pm: course on fluid simulation and optimal transport with @pltc.bsky.social - Thursday the 23th - 10:45am to 12:35pm: Exact predicates and exact constructions for mesh CSG (TOG article)

A week in Institut d'astrophysique de Paris with R. Mohayaee, A. Lukas and T. Rhys Harvey, on Calabi-Yau manifolds. BTW, this image is not a CY ! it is just a couple of cross-sections. Now working on 6D FEM to solve the complex Monge-Ampère equation. ... no body hears you scream in high-D space !

Cropped cross-sections of the geometric support of a Calabi-Yau manifold

Still working on hashtag#geogram / geogram+ / Tessael boolean operations for meshes, Making them faster without sacrifying robustness and generality. More to come ... (this test suggested by Cyprien Plateau Holleville)

New results: adventures in redshift space, with Roya Mohayaee, Charles Dapogny and Edouard Oudet What's that ? Millenium falcon going to hyperspace ? No, redshift distortions: uncertainties on galaxy clusters positions due to their relative motions. Our new algo. gives encouraging results in 2D

what's that ? millenium falcon going to hyperspace ? No ! redshift distortion.Redshift distortions are radial uncertainties on galaxy cluster positions due to their relative velocitiesCan we solve them using Optimal Transport ? Yes, but the rightmost term of the derivative is problematic (impossible to compute directly)When you are stuck behind a slow truck on the highway, you can change lane ! In mathematical terms, this means computing an adjoint state, and using it to compute the derivatives that we need.

Playing with geogram+ from Tessael. I want robust and accurate boolean operations / CSG with meshes I also want them to run fast Why should I choose ? Tessael developed geogram+, an enhanced version of geogram. Playing with it in Python, in Polyscope, using Tessael's "ALLOY" interop middleware.

Back from Eurographics Conference, seen many great talks there, and more importantly, seen many friends! Amir Vaxman, Jos Stam,Michela Spagnuolo, George Drettakis, Lourdes Agapito, Mark Alexa, Anatole Lécuyer, Raphaëlle Chaine, Shimin Hu, Leif Kobbelt and many others ! Next stop, SIGGRAPH 2026 !

Packing my luggage for Eurographics Conference and fixing some last minute details for our course with Cyprien Plateau-Holleville on fluid simulation with Optimal Transport, Monday afternoon. See you there !

Preparing for our course "Optimal Transport Based fluid simulation: New and Old" with Cyprien Plateau-Holleville (EUROGRAPHICS and SIGGRAPH) 2D simulation of "droplet hurdles race" (De Maleprade et.al). Features high surface tension, viscosity and fluid boundary - domain interactions.

We will give with Cyprien Plateau-Holleville a course on Fluid Simulation with Optimal Transport: New and Old at: - Eurographics 2026 (May 4-8, Aachen) - SIGGRAPH 2026 (July 19-23, LA) Featuring: - Gentle introduction to OT - Create your own OT at home - Fluid sim with OT See you there !
