i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

Imagine being talented and beautiful and rich and famous and still the most noteworthy thing about you is how good a person you are.

The fact that nearly every online debate or controversy results in some kind of brigading—people can’t just have opinions; they have to review-bomb and harass and call for books to be pulled from shelves—makes it impossible to have normal conversations on social media. Everything is a referendum.

Great thread! What I loved about webcomics was it was just a person saying “I want to make this story and no one can stop me” and we got so many weird (complimentary) and honest stories because of it Now it just feels sterile and corporate

So, we need to talk about webtoons(the company) has done to webcomics Over the past 7 or so years, we've seen this absolute shift in expectation, migration, and stagnation in the webcomics sphere which applies to style, sustainability, and the platforms grip on readers and creators

one of my favorite jokes about being from a family of 4 sisters is it's very clear to me who everyone is in little women, but we can never say it out loud because it would probably end in a fight which is very little women

👇 In reference to that SDCC Avatar Aang slide everyone is talking about. It was a page from an artbook, and the reference to Chat GPT was likely injected by the person who put the book together. Actual artists like Kat who worked on the film have no idea why it says that.

I have no clue why it was on that slide or who put it there, and every member of the crew I worked with is 100% against AI. Every aspect of the animation is handcrafted by real artists and I hope that people don’t use this slide as a reason to detract from how much love and labor went into the film.
