Years ago I coined the milleneuve, which is a unit to measure how horrible the sky color is based on Villeneuve films. Blade Runner 2049 is around 900mn. Today is around 250 I'd say. (It's a very scientific scale.)

More and more, I agree with the brutal pragmatism of the commentators who point out that as long as the US's best athletes are all playing other sports and youth soccer remains a pay-to-play province of the upper middle class, no amount of great coaching will bridge the gap.

The only *guaranteed* piece of craft advice I can give -- I mean the advice that is universally applicable -- is that if you kill many other writers and eat their scribere gland (roughly the size of a black-eyed pea, so be careful not to damage it) then your prose will improve immensely
