Today’s corn update: Corn is among the most controversial crops. The tassels spread their pollen through wind dispersal & the worry is that GMO crops would mingle with organic crops, which happens. Buffer zones, pollen drift & purity tests. Sounds like a dating app gone wrong

Today’s corn update: The not-quite-forgotten tassels are still hanging on to the tops of the stalks, beginning to demarcate the next phase in the feed’s development. From slippery copper to lackluster maize. The starch buildup has begun. Water/Sun ratio has been optimal (for sweat production)

Today’s corn update: This is the time of year when the craving for the combo of corn & crab is strongest. This comes naturally having grown up around the Chesapeake Bay. Corn & crab chowder, corn in the crab cakes, crab & corn quesadilla…. Crabs. Corn. Butter. Vinegar. Hush Puppies. A feast

Today’s corn update: I grew up with relatives that mixed heavily with the PA Dutch & I was treated to many of their foods ~ smoked ham, wet shoo-fly pie & kettle corn. I still haven’t tasted kettle corn similar since. The other day I was told that that’s because Miss Anna used her family kettle

Today’s corn update: In dreams, corn symbolizes growth & fruition, products of a harvest. Obvs blight & disease draw the opposite view. Niche variants are usually wrapped around context. For example ~ limbs becoming corn signals worry over one being ready for harvest, contextually speaking
