I just got shown something a couple days ago about an adaptation of an Ellis work that would have been spectacular and it derailed a number of careers of some real good people, which makes this sting so much more than before

As a reminder, in 2020, more than 60 people accused Warren Ellis of grooming and sexual impropriety, coming together to create the website somanyofus.com. In its most recent update, in 2023, the site posted: "To the best of our knowledge, Warren Ellis took none of the steps we hoped he would."

Saw a post saying "I don't want NSFW accounts to talk about voting, just let me jack off" Buddy, NSFW artists and sex workers are being constantly attacked by a government of nonces trying to distract from their own crimes by pinning the blame on porn. They have the right to speak up about this.

Comps/gifts/priority treatment are things media should reject whenever possible. Sometimes it isn't possible, and you manage those cases as honestly as you can. To instead treat these perks as an expectation, part of a trade between you and what you cover, is beyond embarrassing.

The laws have effectively pushed hundreds of millions of people away from regulated sites where sex workers can actually earn money to pirate sites and sites with illegal, unmoderated content. They're doing to porn what they did with abortion.

Everything's probbably fine in the world when every second post I see here is someone needing money for emergency surgery or cause they got evicted or to keep the lights on or something right? Like constantly needing to beg for money for basic survival is a sign of everything going well yeah?
