It's a powerful reminder that all of us need to stop periodically and take an uncomfortable look at our own most deeply-held convictions, and consider that we might be wrong about them in some way. Locking in positions and just digging in is not the way to the truth.

i think it’s a very bad thing that AI usage has become so stigmatized and misunderstood by a militant part of the left that they are now conducting harassment campaigns and witch-hunt like dynamics towards their own allies

Something to remember: Luna was post-trained and optimized by Sol. And now Luna is 80% cheaper. When you combine those facts, you can see the acceleration much more clearly.

I've wanted to build a game that takes place in bizarre, dying, riverside villages with a 19th century vibe. So obviously I had to create a procedural river valley generator with realistic hydrology. And it's beautiful. AI has unlocked every door.

There are some otherwise fairly intelligent people on here saying some extremely stupid things about geopolitics, which make me think they need to travel more. Like, I get it: The USA is deeply imperfect. But you can express your criticisms without being arrested. I think they undervalue that.

I burned another Codex reset today and then OpenAI reset the limits! 😭 I mean I love the free resets but dammit! It's hard to make intelligent choices when they keep doing that randomly.

Iceland is missing a bit of an opportunity right now. They have essentially unlimited geothermal power available, and gigantic swaths of desolate, very cold land. Indeed, they route excess heat from geo power generation to Reykjavik to heat the streets. They could route datacenter heat for reuse.

OpenAI has unveiled 5.6! It comes with a new naming scheme, where 'sol' is the most powerful, 'terra' is the middle option, and 'luna' is the smallest. Much better than mini nano etc imo. They're starting with a preview for corps, bc of USG, and they say they don't like having to do this.

Previewing GPT-5.6 Sol: a next-generation model

OpenAI previews GPT-5.6 Sol, a next-generation model with stronger capabilities in coding, science, and cybersecurity, paired with its most advanced safety stack.

Circadians are those little bugs that climb up on trees in the morning and make a loud buzzing sound all day, then climb back underground when it gets dark. They repeat this cycle every day.

Here's actual Data Center Alley in Ashburn VA, surrounding ex-AOL HQ. The two hotels smack dab in the middle have 1,600+ TripAdvisor reviews between them, and *zero* mention data center noise. (Many reviews mention noise from IAD flights.) The houses at upper left are ~$1.2M.

Still in need of a full-time remote senior/staff-level job! My strengths are TypeScript, Solidity, SQL, C#, and Swift. Decent with Rust. I'm a good team lead too and was once a CTO of a YC company. Boosts for visibility appreciated. Thanks SO much.
