it feels like in the late 90s/early 00s, coaster manufacturers were so focused on weird train gimmicks Six Flags Over Georgia got Batman (hanging), Scorcher (standing), and Superman (flying) in the span of a few years But then things switched back to focusing on speed, intensity, etc.
we barely even had what can be called "lockdowns" in the US everyone worked and learned remotely for a bit. some places were closed. there might've been less to do out of the house, but no one was forcing you to stay home in any real capacity.
