In May, Vijeta and I had our wedding in Cambridge Commons with hundreds of you all. In June, her grandfather suddenly passed away. In July, her papa was diagnosed with stage IV cancer and a brain tumor. He is 58. He was at our wedding, already symptomatic, and none of us knew.
While we’re in the area, MBTA, electrify the line, build the complete trail along the tracks to Porter, build a quadrangle train stop, and release a joint development RFP 2.0
The quad and the triangle are one community, but the train tracks split them in two. A bridge is the answer, so City Council has done the work. We partnered with Healthpeak, rezoned the area, and created incentives to get the bridge built. Now just one thing stands in the way.

Side guards save lives. But wait, what’s a side guard?
@314action.bsky.social works to elect scientists and engineers at every level of government, so that they can bring data and evidence to the problems that matter most, from climate change to healthcare. As an engineer, that's exactly how I've approached each thorny problem in Cambridge.
I sure hope Burhan gets elected because #mapoli needs this kind of leadership. He’s been a breath of fresh air.
If we enacted a 2 cent sales tax across the MBTA service region, paid by everyone who benefits from the system, it would raise billions for transit every single year. This program would also bypass the annual funding fight in the State House, which stymies any ambitious transit project.

Massachusetts punishes you for fixing up your property. I'm not being dramatic. Right now we tax land and buildings together, so the empty lot down the street pays almost nothing, while the neighbor who actually builds housing or opens a shop gets a bigger bill.
We're sending out our special edition charlie card mailers! Help us send our more of them by chipping in on our website.
As state senator, I would push for three key changes to lower electric bills for all of Massachusetts.
Cambridge cut electric bills by $95 million. Here's how.
In Cambridge, we built a municipal program that negotiates electricity in bulk and returns the savings straight to customers. By eliminating the middleman, w...

The state tells cities to tax more. But Massachusetts law says cities can't. Here's how that happens.
stoked to be a part of this event with so many awesome people in the movement who are doing really great work! see you (virtually) on the 4th?
Over the past ten years, the housing movement has grown from a small number of people into a national collective pushing change across the country: Maryland, Arizona, Cambridge, California, and now the halls of Congress. On August 4, the people behind those wins are coming together on one call.

Yesterday an OpenAI model escaped a sandbox and hacked Hugging Face. The only laws requiring companies to report incidents like this are state ones. And the legislators who wrote them are leaving their seats this year. So today we’re launching our plan voteburhan.com/ArtificialIntelligence/

The Quad and the Triangle are neighbors. Yet it takes 20 minutes to walk between them, because train tracks and a substation are in the way. This is entirely fixable.

Massachusetts has a Shield Law for reproductive care. It means that if you live in a state where abortion is banned, you can come to Massachusetts. When you’re here, our state protects you, your provider, and your records from out-of-state subpoenas.
