It really doesn't make sense to attribute those job losses to AI-the-technology, because if that were the case we'd be observing AI outputs displacing conventional entertainment products, and they're clearly not. Rather, the impact of AI is that AI-the-business is crowding out other investment.

Hollywood has suffered the most in the AI era—with the movie & TV industry losing more than 100k jobs, nearly one-third of the sector’s total employment, over the last four years. Total employment in video production is approaching the fthe lowest levels in 30 years

Whenever I clean my Switch 2 and take out the joy cons, I'm reminded of how astounding the tech is. We're able to play high fidelity games with complex systems on something this small.

Me holding up a Switch 2 without its joy cons attached.

Aside from Digger and Dune 3, there doesn't seem to be any other exciting movies coming to Malaysian theatres in 2026. We didn't get Coyote vs. Acme. We're not getting Musk nor You Can See Everything.

Watched Gibney's documentary on Elizabeth Holmes. So many people were convinced by her bullshit that I'm forced to reflect on my own gullibility. Is she that impressive of a saleswoman? or are most rich people just easy marks because they don't mind losing money?

Restarted my playthrough (Theodora) of Fortune's Weave after I got a better understanding of the game's shape and systems. I'm starting to see the design intentions in the game's overworld map and how players are supposed to navigate it.

another one was, i made the rain in Weird West, which wets things and fills containers and puts fires out and whatever. for a long time i had the rain coming in at the correct angle based on the wind, so in a storm you could shelter behind a building and get less wet. "cool". not legible, not useful

Always love doing one of these. Let's me reflect on old and new games I've played. First row = formative Second row = taste-defining Third row = modern inspirations

Deus Ex, Dragon Age Origins, Resident Evil 4, Demon's Souls, Rome Total War, Bloodborne, Signalis, Mouthwashing, 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim.

a little look at how we write the script for The Mermaid Mask - I write the script directly into the Unity editor, including the voice directions. Then that gets automatically exported into a document for the actors to read. Then, once we have the audio, we import it back into the dialogue system

Need games that are playable by only using the mind. Or an evolution accelerator that will give me a third arm. Please give either one immediately. Two tigers will devour me if I stop appeasing them.

Two of my orange cats flanking my game controller which I've placed on the floor.

I can see why the Fortune's Weave devs are open about the game originally having eight routes. You're able to see the remnants of the other four routes almost immediately after starting the game. And you see it more and more as you play.

You know I'm really amazed with people customizing their own Mechas in video game. When you get that freedom of making your character, sometimes it gets a little bit creative. In M.A.S.S Builder by Vermillion Digital (Thailand), some players create their own humannoid mechas
