It's been a little over one year since I was last sexually assaulted. Not the first time. Definitely not the last. But it was the first time it fundamentally changed how I exist in the world. It wasn't inherently violent. It wasn't a stranger. It didn't start with force. It started consensually.
A pox on online ordering forms that reject someone having the same first and last name with a generic error! Yes, my legal first and last name are exactly the same. My parents could not agree on a name for me and my grandpa suggested it as there is "one every generation".

To answer the recent question of “what the worst movie I’ve seen in the theater?” That is Battlefield Earth. The book is a decent read… the changes for the movie made it impossible to suspend disbelief.

I’m chuffed that I can handle crisis at work with out dissociating and keeping my emotions flowing. Sure could use some more quiet days at work because I’m tired and frazzled.

It’s worse even than @joshgondelman.bsky.social is making it sound: You create your empire at your own cost on infrastructure owned by the big existing entity that’s making money from you without having to pay you to do it, and they can take your access to the audience away at any time.

Life advice from an orc dad. When you start to respond to someone online, especially someone you don't know. Stop. Think long and hard about whether or not you want to engage with this person. Then do the sensible thing and close that tab instead.
Took me over a week to find that - file in a command that should have been -file. I had been pushing myself hard to get this done for work. Picture unrelated.
