Interesting piece of bus infrastructure I came across tonight. This street has two lanes in direction: one bus lane in the left lane, general purpose traffic in the right lane & 1 lane in the other direction. But widens to four lanes with these bus stop platforms in the middle.

Night scene. Traffic is separated with a cone like formation in white lines, car on the left and bus lane on the right.Back of a center running bus stop with glass dividers and a crosswalk. There is a bike lane to the left.Bus lanes with a bus stop shelter on the left and concrete platforms on both sides. There is a man standing on the left.

Had an amazing day biking around Stockholm for 4 and a half hours. Really good bike infrastructure. Some gaps here and there, but you can tell they’ve made some really nice recent improvements. They really try to keep bike lanes open during construction.

We are SO THRILLED that New York City has passed the Romanch's Law banning horse-drawn carriage rides! These horses were living in deplorable conditions and made to work hours upon hours a day, and had very little vet care. We are so excited to finally see them be free!

My ranking for the three principal cities of Scandinavia: Oslo Copenhagen Stockholm And this is only based on these stupid motor scooters. They’re everywhere in Stockholm and they’re really loud and stinky. I didn’t seem to encounter them in Oslo, seems like most deliveries are done via ebike.

Prob took Waymo >20 min to clear their robot. The location was ~mile from Waymo's main and best staffed SF depot, so ~walking speed time to repair. This kind of incident should be regulated to the level of near prohibition, imo, but few regulators require reporting. Over trust and don't verify.

This was so crazy. This bus stop on the E18. I mean I guess we have bus stops on motorways in NJ, but this is like an interstate highway in a sense. I saw there was a Tunnelbana station right next to it, so of course I had to get off.

It’s too bad they ended this pilot. Almost everyone admits double parking is a problem, but the mayor said “it was confusing”. Just say “it’s unfair to luxury SUV drivers”. Meanwhile, the 4th most popular bus line in NJ is delayed by these persecuted luxury SUV drivers.

There was a camera-based enforcement initiative that was incredibly popular, but it was “confusing”. These confused people double park on Washington and slow down the 126 and other Hoboken buses so they ended it in December. 🤷🏻‍♀️ www.hobokennj.gov/resources/au...

Bye New Jersey! 👋🏽 One more ride on NJ Transit Route 320 to NYC! Highly recommend looking into hotels in Secaucus if the ones in NYC are too expensive. This route operates every 10-15 mins. and it connects several chained-brand hotels, a park & ride lot & the Port Authority Bus Terminal. 🚌

No te gusta when someone insists in getting in front of you, and then takes forever to order? When really all you want is a bloody coffee. Or when they insist on getting ahead of you, then walk slowly looking at their mobile phone?

Stockholm has a few different modes of rail transport. The Roslagsbanan (signs in English say light rail) terminate with 3 lines at Stockholm östra station in the NE corner of the city centre. The older trains are so cute.

The subway system here in Stockholm is crazy. All the lines meet at the central station. It’s total chaos transferring between lines. I would have yelled at two people who were walking slowly down the left side of the stairs as they were looking at their phones, if I were in NY. But I’m a guest so..

Spent the day on a 7 hour FlixBus ride from Oslo to Stockholm. Really wasn’t that bad. It was pretty spacious and nobody sat next to me. I have no idea why there doesn’t seem to be direct train service between these two cities.

I did not think I would have so much fun biking here in Oslo. It doesn’t have the caliber of bike lanes that Copenhagen has, but there doesn’t seem like there is as much car traffic. Lots of hills though, that makes it fun.

Today I took metro line 4 & 69 bus out to this lake. This was wee bit more dodgy than yesterday’s trip. Apple Maps said it was a 20 minute worked, which turned out to be an hour of confusing treacherous forest trails where I nearly slipped, tripped and twisted my ankle. But it was all worth it.

#JCcrashes 😡 Montgomery & Merseles. This morning a high schooler crossing Montgomery was hit by a motorcycle. This is an important school route, but Montgomery & Merseles is a wide, fast, and dangerous intersection, and the crossing guard often tells students to run when crossing. /

#JCcrashes Yet another crash tonight. Two-car crash at Summit and Montgomery. We don't know details, but we know that one-ways reduce crash danger by eliminating dangerous conflicted left-turns, the most common danger at intersections.
