Seeing movies in the theater, even in the 80’s, was a luxury to my family. No way we were seeing a bad film for even a dollar. That said, my parents took me to Cujo when I was little. That was probably a mistake. My dad really loved Stephen King books. Not age appropriate.

Words Matter! Some #disabled people prefer identity-first language. Others people with #disabilities prefer person-first language. The most respectful approach is to ask the individual and go with their preference.

This is bad. Please read the actual news article. They tried to intimidate this woman over a fully legal Instagram post. I applaud her instinct to make them speak in front of other people. If you are approached by ICE, make them speak in front of others so there are witnesses.

I went to the woods and found some mushrooms. Came home and turned them into soup with leftover chicken and garlic scapes. My soup is so good.

Look folks. I woke up to no Kcups for the Keurig and the regular coffee maker won’t brew. It keeps turning itself off again. I resorted to boiling coffee on my stove, and Blech. Then I went to sit with my kid having brekkie and I sat on a shard of glass! I’m sorry to whomever cursed me. Truly.

We lived in River Forest and Forest Park during this time. I am not shocked. I remember the incident after the parade. It gave me a bad impression of the safety of attending the parade. We had a small child and the Forest Park parade and celebration were very drunk adult oriented.

My mother, the inimitable Jane Yolen passed away this morning after a blessingly short fight with Alzheimer’s. She did not suffer, and went peacefully into the ether which, I am certain for her, will be filled with words of the most exquisite beauty and meaning.

I love me some nuclear block action. The ability to see someone’s account info and Nope out of their universe is excellent.

I am filled with thoughts. When I was younger my mom lived at the end of the block from the Half Time. We would go to use their phone when the power went out.
