Words can buzz and hum like insects in the air. I'm not actually a cat, but that's a secret.
Reading that news story, I hate to assume it was meth, but... it probably was meth.
"Just try something else while I run through these cabbages" is, surely, a quote that can only come from Only Connect.
Seriously, though. How bad are this Luxon and Willis and Young Simeon team at, actual, politics. They seem to simply not get it. They seem to think they're utterly entitled to rule.
This reminds me of the first episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, season 4. Buffy and Willow in the college book store. Buffy, with a pile of books "this is going to cost mom so much. At least, I hope it isn't a painful aneurysm!" If you know, you know.
Which of these old geezers are going to do an apoplexy on live TV?
If anyone from The Post is listening, there’s a strong case for taking down the paywall for this editorial www.thepost.co.nz/politics/361...
Editorial: Luxon’s impotence makes him prime minister in name only
Winston Peters can remove Christopher Luxon whenever he wants, but it seems it’s not the other way round.

Screaming? Have you ever encountered a tradie in his truck playing chicken with a big yellow bus on an icy road? No? Then you ain't heard screaming..
The substance resembled snow in many particulars. The city's residents, mostly though not entirely unfamiliar with such weather, surely assumed this was the case. At least, until the screaming started.
Open and free for all. Enrolment of 18-24 year olds for Nov 7 election collapses to 53% from 70%; Over 200,000 young people not enrolled = more than voted NZ First in 2023; Auckland Council vote turnout under 20% for young. #nzpol open.substack.com/pub/thekaka/...

Snowflakes around Parliament They missed their chance!
@stuff.co.nz nails it 👏🏻😅👏🏻😂👏🏻😂
🐧 The penguins have arrived! 🐧 🌨️ The polar blast bringing sea level snow has been swept right off the Antarctic ice shelf, 48 hours ago the air over the country was hanging out with Penguins! 🧊 Temperatures will plunge tonight, with severe frosts in many places. Beware of icy roads and drive safe.
There's a "Four Seasons Nail Salon" in Coastlands. Just saying.
Surely the Prime Minister could have found and booked a big venue for his Kāpiti public meeting that wasn't Jevon McSkimming's church...
A mustang car or a mustang horse? Curious minds need to know.
I spent three months locked in an audit room with a lady who told me about how she opened her third eye by accidentally hitting a DMT laced bong hit at her friend’s birthday party. During the trip, she met a Buddha made of pure energy, who told her to buy a mustang.
Update calendar for: "That time it snowed in Wellington" to August 4th, 2026.
Ok, it's now snowing. Melting as soon as it touches the concrete, but that's snow.
How about now? We have sleet over here in Kingston.

Is it snowing in Karori yet? Seems the right sort of weather for it.
And let us not forget this is a deliberate disenfranchisement policy from a government who knows that most of those who frequently move house or otherwise forget to update their details won't be voting for them.
The Electoral Commission has told staff to turn away voters who aren't on the printed roll and who say they're unenrolled, but has no plans to count how many people will be affected. newsroom.co.nz/2026/08/03/t...
Hang on, people are only now discovering Winston Peters is racist? He always has been. And he's been in governments of all stripes since 1996...
And, of course, "updated driver training." The thing is, as will all public infrastructure, you pay peanuts you get monkeys. And it all costs more over the long run.

I guess someone finally got through to a major political party that "representative surveys" and currently collected government data can't actually replace a quadrennial household census.
Not sure how much attention this will get, but it’s quite a big deal - Labour has pulled its support for the Govt’s controversial census ‘modernisation’ plans, meaning it no longer has the 75% majority it needs in Parliament: newsroom.co.nz/2026/08/03/g...
The Prime Minister is infantilising small business while the Foreign Minister is angering China while also cynically catering to "The Great Replacement" cookers. Must be election year.
Does anyone else find it deeply odd that they're playing John Cena's entrance music as the "celebration music" in this game of rugby?
I'm at a pub. I have a Guinness. And, apparently, sportsball is happening? I don't really understand it, but it seems very exciting.
“The moment someone in a meeting declares “I’m the adult here,” you are watching the Child, wearing daddy’s pants, stamping his tiny foot. The claim to adulthood is the one utterance the Adult never needs to make.” Nailed it! 😂 #nzpol #OneTermGovernment #NZ
