I haven’t been to FanFest in a few years… maybe not since post COVID? Going today & am curious to see what the experience is like under new ownership that claims to care about the fan experience.
Dundon’s goal is to turn me into a neutral observer of the league. He wants me to be indifferent about the outcome of the Blazers. I must root for them out of pure spite for his existence on this planet.
I do have to say, Ditch Mitch is catchy. My proposals for the mods: Get rid of ya, Olivia No pick Novick I couldn’t come up with one for Eric Zimmerman, but idk if that’ll be necessary.
I felt very validated hearing @highkin.bsky.social say that he doesn't think trading the 1st overall pick would be a bad idea, should the Fire get lucky. I've thought that pick was worth dangling since the trade deadline.

Emily Engstler, who is a restricted free agent, was talking like she wants and expects to be back in Portland. Said she wants some stability after bouncing around throughout her career, and she loves the organization and city and her teammates.
Unreasonably excited about the WNBA playoffs this year. I’m only thumbs down on the Fever, and that’s just because of one player. Last year’s were so great and it feels wide open again this year.
I haven’t had that much fun at a basketball game in a loooooooooong time! Great season from the Fire and I already want next season to start… I guess the other professional basketball team in Portland will have to tide me over 😔

Maybe I was reading a bit too much into his opening statement about talking with owners about their responsibilities to the markets they are in, but that felt very pointed at Dundon more than anyone.

6 months would seem to suggest Sharpe had his meniscus repaired, instead of trimmed, which is much better for his long term health, for what it’s worth. Hopefully he can come back and finish the season strong.
