Environmental lawyer, union member/officer, & wife guy. Voted #1 Portland pizza hype guy account.

It’s wild that no other media outlet besides the Mercury is covering the Dan Ryan text saga…like, these lobbyists were calling councilors of color racial epithets. They called me a burrito. Meanwhile there were ten million stories about daddy gate, but crickets on this? Disparity in standards

Hey Portland, here’s a “don’t rank” guide from “a group of Portlanders who spend our free time organizing in the community. For years we have worked on grassroots, pro-people campaigns: things like universal preschool, tenant protections, labor union campaigns, funding our schools, and more.”

If you’re tired of old guard grifters spending outrageous amounts of money to unseat people who are fighting for you, you need to get out and canvass. We don’t get nice things unless we do the work.

"Business and Labor." To state the obvious, Labor isn't a monolith. And you should know that there is significant daylight between the social justice unionism of Jobs with Justice (and many of our members, frankly) with the politics of the Portland Metro Chamber.

Who we got here? * The Portland Metro Council (aka Portland Business Alliance) * Laurie Wimmer (lobbyist and total reactionary who managed to get herself a sinecure in the Northwest Oregon Labor Council) * The building trades union who want that sweet, sweet Moda Center renovation cash.

Today’s Fair Share Tax testimonies were inspiring and reminded us that we can make progress when we unite to address economic inequality. We deserve an economy that empowers working families and small businesses and strengthens our neighborhoods, not one that benefits only those at the top.

They can’t disclose specifics as it was info provided in confidence, but this looks telling: “We will not ask transgender Oregonians to accept less dignity, less safety, or less belonging in exchange for political convenience.”
