Ruth Zakarin@ruthz.bsky.social · 3d agoTrauma clinician here. Even if those kids are released tomorrow they will never be fully released from the trauma of their incarceration. They may leave Dilley, but they will never completely leave Dilley behind them. The impact is forever. That is what our government chooses to do to children.

Now they say in a statement that the Trump admin approached them, they were only considering applying for a small grant, no application was submitted, and now they won't.
It's not like anyone predicted that climate change would also affect the economy.

I also represent a little girl who has been held in the shelter for 155 days, even though her mother is only one state away and has gone through the entire vetting process. They are keeping these kids detained so they can fast track them for removal.
