Trump’s Department of Education and Secretary Linda McMahon tried to politicize the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program by only allowing employers who agreed with the administration’s agenda to qualify. We sued, and today, we won on behalf of nonprofits, local governments, and labor unions.

It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face. If Congress actually cared about what it's seeing, it could pass that overnight.

Trump (1) reveals he doesn't know what habeas corpus is and (2) punts to Noem, who famously revealed her own ignorance at a Senate hearing when she defined habeas corpus as "a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country." www.npr.org/2025/05/20/n...

Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus? TRUMP: Suspending who? Q: Habeas corpus TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

What was incredible to me about this press conference is that nowhere did anyone mention that the victims were all detainees. Even if it turns out the suspect intended to target ICE employees, which we still don’t know is true, doesn’t that seem like important information?

FBI official: "What I can share with you is that early evidence we're seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature. Again, this is just the most recently example of this type of attack."

NEW: In a break from decades of history, the Trump administration has started detaining virtually everyone facing deportation — even if they’ve lived in the U.S. for decades. Dozens of judges, with increasing alarm, have ruled the policy shift illegal. www.politico.com/news/2025/09...

Trump’s new detention policy targets millions of immigrants. Judges keep saying it’s illegal.

The administration says the sweeping detentions are a key prong of Trump’s deportation strategy.

Kavanaugh's concurrence cites as examples two immigration cases in which the Court held that lower courts lacked the power to block Biden administration immigration policies. What he rather curiously omits is that, in both cases, the Court had *denied* the government's emergency applications.

And, as you pointed out just now, these two case involving the State of Texas and District Courts therein were somehow cited as examples of consistent and even application by Justice Kavanaugh in his concurrence. Mindboggling.

One might also add examples of stuff Biden did that lower courts blocked and that #SCOTUS *left* blocked at the emergency application stage, only to unblock on the merits (e.g., rescission of MPP; immigration enforcement priorities). Those seem like the sharpest examples of differences in behavior.

What happened at SCOTUS today is alarming: The right-wing majority allowed the Trump admin, as part of its sweeping immigration raids, to racially profile Spanish-speaking people who look Latino at certain low-wage job sites in the Los Angeles area while litigation challenging the raids is ongoing.

SCOTUS conservatives OK Trump admin's racial profiling of Latinos in low-wage jobs

Five of the six Republican appointees to the Supreme Court wrote nothing Monday. But their actions, and Justice Kavanaugh's concurrence, paint an alarming picture.

A federal judge in Boston said she found it "difficult to conclude anything other than that [the Trump administration] used antisemitism as a smokescreen for a targeted, ideologically-motivated assault on this country's premier universities, and did so in a way that runs afoul of [federal law]."

Trump administration illegally froze billions in Harvard funds, judge rules

The ruling is a legal victory for Harvard but the White House says it will appeal the decision.

Exactly right. ICE routinely brings people back after mistakes. Even still, today! But with him, it was the CECOT deportation flights. It was their defiance of Judge Boasberg. And when his removal threatened to blow up their narrative, they turned the full weight of the federal government on him.

this is little more than a vendetta being pursued by the federal government against a man it unlawfully removed from the country and was forced to bring back

If you want to put back statues and memorials and names of Confederate traitors while tearing down museum exhibitions on slavery because they don't show the greatness of the nation... the nation whose history you're celebrating is whiteness. The kind of nationalist you are is a white nationalist.

A D.C. Circuit panel just declined to pause implementation of the so-called “Alien Registration Requirement.” That rule now forces nearly 3 million undocumented immigrants ages 14+ to fingerprint, carry ID, or face criminal charges. 🔗 Read more here: www.courthousenews.com/dc-circuit-d...
