Toured part of the Aspen Acres burn area today for flash flooding potential, and as we thought, it will be highly prone to flash flooding. It was hard not to get emotional seeing all the devastation, but huge shoutout to the fire crews for doing what they can to save everything they can!

A rare moment of excitement in 2026 happened when this EF-3 tornado condensed near I-70. After driving the approximate circumference of the Earth over May and June to see basically nothing it felt like a small victory. 6.17.2026 - Effingham, Illinois

Caught some amazing lightning over the past few days, including a few really close bolts! I was exposed for the wall cloud on this tornado warned storm when my lightning trigger captured this beauty!

Here are pics from trail #2. This was a much shorter hike up to the high point in the park, and where I spent a couple of hours waiting for sunset. Simply enjoyed being outdoors and reading 😌 #hiking #outdoors

Hiked two different trails yesterday at Mueller State Park. Here are some pics from trail #1. It had an awesome combination of forest and high altitude prairie/meadow ecosystems! #hiking #outdoors

A gorgeous image and tornado! What I know as the Prospect Valley tornado! This was the last one I saw (Or at least that I count). Life, and mostly mental health, have really kept me from getting out more, but I’m slowly working on that. Here’s to the many more chases (and hikes) still to come!

Well the cold front certainly pushed southward faster than guidance had it… but then again, they usually tend to. Oh well 🤷‍♂️ Saw a nice shelf cloud early in the this storm clusters life before it started pushing 40+ knots to the SE. #kswx
