Always love seeing a level designer leaving a calling card in their work. (American Truck Simulator)
The interface, the music, the slightly wonky English voiceover. The vibes of this are immaculate.

Really funny how phones now have automated robot answering machines to answer suspected robot spam calls. No human intervention required. Phones now existing as robot PvP devices completely divorced from benefitting society in any way. It rules.
I'm also very familiar with the cycle of Richard Burns Rally
Watching people attempt this seasons RBR Sim Rally Masters, predicting i'll be back on the game in under a week to try and get to grips with it again (and find myself in the nearest tree), happens every time! 😸
I can't stop thinking about that Ace Attorney VR thing. Proper monkey's paw stuff for those of us hoping the series' 25th anniversary would see something announced...
I feel like a bit of a poser seeing other people's much more informed lists, but fuck it, here's 9 anime I really like. my9animes.com/en
It's just a few years before I got into football, but the attention to detail on this PES 99 mod is amazing and I love it so much. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChVz...

I love the arcs with Mr Sputter, this feels like something I'm doomed to do someday.

PandaMonium becoming a Sega Rally sicko isn't the character arc I expected, but I'm glad it's happened.
Feeling cautiously optimistic about these re-releases. The original announcements raised some worries, especially as everything then went silent, but it sounds like they're going about it the right way. GP4 is so good, you don't need to do much to it. store.steampowered.com/news/app/360...

I did an accidental sick drift in the iRacing Suzuka 1000k today. When in Japan...
A truly wild rebranding effort. Touring cars = stock cars (ie NASCAR) makes sense until you think about it for more than 5 seconds, since it was just TOCA World Touring Cars underneath.

Maybe I'm out of touch but I find these stories hard to take seriously. What's a rogue AI going to do to kill me, make my car crash? My car is so old it barely has a computer. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Anthropic researcher believes more than 10% chance AI 'could kill all humans'
It is the latest in a series of increasing warnings about the safety threat posed by artificial intelligence.

Over the summer, I've written histories of 13 computer games which reached #1 in the UK charts during 1987: superchartisland.com/timeline/#1987 Here is a thread on what the British public was buying that year, with links
Wild advert in the paper today. I don't think I'd want a root canal done on holiday personally.
I've long enjoyed that one of the longest-running manga ever made (84 volumes from 1990-2022) is about golf. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaze_no...

Even if you can't read a single kana, one surefire way to improve your manga literacy on any trip to Japan in seconds is to just step into the seinen aisles at a Book Off and, like, take it all in. Just pull shit off the shelves and marvel that manga for grown-ups can be about literally anything.
The Formula Nippon PS1 game has a similar thing with then-current drivers and team owners appearing to offer... encouragement? The whole game and the manual has one of the worst official translations I've ever seen.
how could I ever forget 1998's Option Tuning Car Battle for PlayStation, my beloved crunchy street racing game with wobbly car polys and photos of real people used as NPC portraits psxdatacenter.com/games/J/O/SL...
I never had a PS1 before anyone says anything, and it's my list so I'll be a Wii apologist if I want to. 10. PSP 9. N64 8. Dreamcast 7. GameCube 6. 3DS 5. Wii 4. Xbox 360 3. Switch 2. DS 1. PS2
Ok Pete inspired me to do my top ten consoles. From my heart/gut, not overthinking: 10. GameCube 9. Xbox 8. Saturn 7. NES 6. PS1 5. Genesis 4. PS2 3. SNES 2. Xbox 360 1. Dreamcast
Going to ride the high of getting IDed in my 30s for at least a day or two.
Thoroughly enjoying the 70s-tastic box art of Auto Racing on the Intellivision. I love the mix of cars (the cars in the bottom right look several years apart, and the top left looks like an IndyCar) and the podium scene which I'm sure is based on a photograph but I can't pin it down.

The idea of AI “hallucinating” is one I wish I’d had!
Is this darkness from the eclipse or the growing cloud cover? Who can say?
Boozing in the sun, mocking JK Rowling and Joanna Cherry, and generally pissing off all the right people ... I am absolutely loving Nicola Sturgeon's new 'couldn't GAF' mode right now. She lives rent free in the minds of her haters - and she knows it My column in @heraldscotland.bsky.social
I am so enjoying Sturgeon’s ‘couldn’t GAF’ attitude right now
Those who hate the former First Minister simply cannot stop obsessing about her. She’s playing them like a fiddle and it’s very entertaining to…

American race sponsor names have given us some bangers but this one is my new favourite.
"GPU texture address mode collies" meme continues to be my main achievement in life, I think.
