with more doujinshi events popping up here and there i sincerely encourage people of all skill levels to shoot an application to your local event if you want to make a doujinshi! you don't have to be good at art or writing or anything. you only have to be crazy. doujinshi is for everyone.

I put off drawing my doujinshi for years bc I was still enmeshed in the mindset that it would just get me in trouble for being unpublishable and dark, but working on it... has made me love comics all over again!!
Borrowed 11 volumes of Kaiju No 8 from the library today... I need to figure out what is going on with Slanty Eyes because he's very much the type of character I'm interested in (FYI my BLEACH oshi was Ichimaru Gin), and it seems like he's the fandom bicycle.

Not to soap box about this but i feel that ppl in the english indie comics space should hear it: creating doujinshi/self published comics without the stamp of a prestigious fair or an indie publisher does not make you any less of a comic artist. drawing comics makes you a comic artist.
I truly cannot work without a deadline so that's what i'm gonna self-impose today
