Maybe it was kind of doomed to not look great, but the first Yugioh Movie doesn't look good? When Pokemon got adapted it had a noticeable visual upgrade, but Yugioh? It looks "nicer", but it still feels like a more polished episode of the show.

It's wild how people crashed out over the fact that the very original Ghost in the Shell was not only a political sci-fi thriller, but also raunchy, sexy, and goofy. The new show is simply adapting the original manga. It's still the same thematically rich series you know from Oshii's version.

You know, for as much as Don Bluth didn't like the original script to Thumbelina, it's not like the script we got from him is great. Whether it's loyal or not to the original fairytale is besides the point. It's simply put, not a compelling story, nor does it have compelling characters.

What’s lost is you can be critical of some of the creative choices like changing a language from a real one to a made up one and the push by studios of AI…but you look at a frame of animation, you know it was made with care and people got thrown under the bus. Both of these things can be true.

Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is a pretty solid 4/5 shonen action franchise-style film with some decent ideas that it doesn't really dive into or let the other non Aang characters do much in the plot. Great action and stunning animation do a lot of the heavy lifting. Screw ChatGPT.

This is another animated film that sadly got overlooked by the fact it came out during the pandemic and from what I recall, had a very limited digital release before getting taken off digital storefronts like Amazon. It's an incredible movie that needs a proper physical release.

It's always going to be a shame that Oshii is going to be remembered as the guy behind the "serious" adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, since he's done other great work like with Urusei Yatsura and odd animated experiments like this one. He's a creative titan for a reason.

I understand that's just what the character sounds like, and nothing on the voice actor themselves, but so much of Yugioh Zexal would be saved if the lead's voice wasn't so grating. On top of having a more substantial friends group. Might be the most useless friends ever in a Yugioh series.
