This is seismic news for fisheries scientists. Northern cod is *the* iconic symbol of total fisheries collapse due to overfishing (and other factors) *and* the iconic symbol of a complete failure to recover for decades afterwards. This is like announcing the complete recovery of bison on land.

Went back out to the barn after the Vet took Jupiter away a little bit ago. My other 3 horses surrounded me. They know what’s up. Never try to tell me animals are just dumb creatures. They have feelings just as much as we do. Phantom, the next elder pony would not leave my side. I love them💙

Yesterday, a federal appeals court rejected ICE’s mass-detention policy, comparing it to Japanese internment camps during WWII—one of the darkest chapters in our history. SCOTUS will likely take up the case. I’ve been to these detention centers. They’re deeply inhumane and woefully inadequate.

I am listening to a very good book, called "The Last American President," by Thom Hartman, about Trump and what led to him. It's very good.
I've been reading stories & watching programs on 9/11 & the heroism displayed that day. But, I've also been thinking abt. people in other countries who have suffered equally - being bombed in schools, hospitals, at weddings, etc. & I bet there are as many stories of heroism & valor in those places.
One reason, and only one reason, why the remainder of the Epstein files have not been released.

What a great speech by PM Carney just now with Zelenskyy! “Ukraine was here to help build Canada, Canada will be there to help rebuild Ukraine!” He pointed out that Ukrainians came to Canada and predominantly settled in Alberta BEFORE Alberta was a province! Very strategic move by the PM.
Can’t replace a leader of the free world but if we try hard enough we might be able to reconstruct one in aggregate
