It always bothers me a little when they say "new normal". Because it isn't some new stable state. It is a point in time of a contually worsening climate stability. If you think this is unstable just wait 10 years, 20 years etc. It is just going to continue getting less stable year after year.
Continuing to hold outdoor community events in a smoky hellscape, while neighbouring communities are evacuating and losing homes feels so dystopian to me. It reminds me of the scene in Titanic when the servers are passing appies and the string quartet is playing while the ship sinks. 🤨☹️

Is it time to shift Music in the Park (and maybe hot night and ribfest etc) to earlier in the season? I just can't imagine sitting outside in the smoke tryng to enjoy the music. I am sure I am not the only one. It must be impacting the audience size and performers negatively.

This idiot has probably never been to the BOREAL FOREST a day in his life. It is 5.5 times the size of Texas. You cannot "groom" it. It's burning because of climate change. The utter bullshit from these climate deniers. Canadians are sick of this bullying and they are not going to take it.

Not a single word about how these tariffs violate both our WTO & USCMA obligations. Every time Trump does this, the NYT & other outlets simply write as if we live in an international vacuum, where the US has no obligations under signed, ratified international treaties. It's journalistic malpractice.

One of Trump's big trade irritants with Canada is related to our dairy supply management. I would be surprised if the current level of food safety monitoring in the States would meet Canadian standards. Another reason to protect our food security, monitor products from the States and buy Canadian.

Let's do some Canadian pipeline-wildfire math. The Canadian Energy Center says growing oil exports by 1.5M barrels/day **could** boost GDP by ~31B annually. Meanwhile, wildfire smoke health costs alone - just the health costs, nothing else - averaged 23B/year, past tense. And they're growing fast.
