We're open! We used to be on Twitter (X) and now hope to be a wonderful presence on Bluesky where we can show you why cities without cars are the best!

A fan of Electric Vehicles (EVs) are you? We just recently posted this Andy Singer cartoon as a response (will link to that in comments). But wanted to make a direct post here. This explains quite well how EVs help in just one (1) area, but automobiles come with doze s of problems.

Cartoon by Andy Singer: "The environmental impacts of a car" it shows how electric vehicles only eliminate tailpipe emissions, but so many other impacts are left unsolved, such as traffic crashes, tire dust, mining, heat impacts, asphalt and concrete, urban and rural land destroyed by roads, lack of place for kids and nature, and the list goes on.

One of the best ways to experience fietsgeluk (cycling happiness) is by pedalling together as an expression of community, and the Cycling Without Age Bike Parade in Budapest was no exception. At a time when cycling has become so politically divisive, it was a beautiful, communal act of celebration!

Induced demand is when we build more roads to fix traffic, so more people drive, creating more traffic, which we fix by building more roads. It’s a brilliant system where the solution recreates the problem, ensuring we never run out of either problems or solutions.

Just last week we celebrated World Bicycle Day. Check out this article by CCA team member Debra Efroymson. It's a fun article on why bicycles are so lovable, and why they are such a perfect solution for our transport needs. www.thedailystar.net/opinion/view...

An ode to the humble bicycle

On this World Bicycle Day, it is worth reflecting on the incredible technology that is the bicycle. I love walking, but I cannot help but admire the efficiency of the humble bicycle.
