The State Department said ​it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.

I'm sure, amongst other things, the way they cause a "need" to fit 2 cups of coffee between driver and passenger is a big part of the impetus for absurdly wide cars.

Yes to this, as a starting point. Then move on to drive thrus at every establishment.

Just back from a few days in Scotland with a recommendation: the National Cycling Network route from Gourock to Paisley. Along the waterfront, then up into the hills, then a long gentle descent through the countryside. Needs a couple of tweaks to keep the cars away, but fantastic overall.

Cities that refuse to tow away cars left where they shouldn't be are making a policy announcement that they support this.

A great example of why the "make eye contact with drivers and wear reflective clothing" advice for pedestrians and cyclists is bad. Nothing short of physically limiting where and how drivers can operate their vehicles will work.

There's lots that's batshit about UK academia of course, but this thing where every year a selection of everyone's publications get anonymously scored by their senior colleagues is by far the craziest aspect.
